Cherel Kind

The once winged beings that saved humanity on the brink of extinction. They now roam the Earth among humanity that has come to fear and alienate their kind. Though their magic abilities are a fragment of what they once where their bright violet eyes remain as fearsome as ever. While often shunned and feared by human society Cherel kind need a form of devine nourishment that can only be harnessed through human interaction. This unexplainable glow can be harvested in a few ways including admiration and extreme violence.

The Court of the Evergrace

“On the inside, a beating heart shines, signifying our everlasting mission to protect the weak from suffering. The shield protecting the heart is the unrelenting defiance of our unity against those that would seek us harm. The wings on either side signify what we have lost” – A description of the Evergrace’s sigil.

The de facto center of power for Cherel kind is the court of the Evergrace. Essentially they are composed of a rag tag group of warrior Cherel that fought along side their mother during the War of the Wings

The Celestial Citadel

Tornbridge Castle was the site of the Cherel’s greatest victory during the War of the Wings. It was a Unity stronghold that was overthrown in one swift attack.

Since its sacking it has remained the seat of power for the court of the Evergrace and now referred to as the Celestial Citadel.

Her Majesty the Evergrace

Appointed to leadership by the Mother herself the Evergrace is the leader of Cherel kind.

She was given power far beyond her peer and even without her wings she wields deadly abilities.

Towering at an unnatural height above any human she is a menacing presence on the battle field and a steadfast surety to her kin.

The Fay

They where treated like monsters, so that’s what they became.

The Fay are the sad twisted creatures that were once angels. They came to earth to save humanity. For their efforts they where rounded up and subjected to barbaric torture in the darkest dungeons of Unity. The wicked treatment transformed them into the creatures they are today.

Fay Wood

Due to their appearance and violent tendencies the Fay are alienated not only from human society but also their former kin.

As a result the majority of the Fay preside in the isolated Fay wood. Deep inside between the branches of the  Whore trees they have turned an old lumber town into their home. The residents of which mysteriously disappeared.

The Queen of the Fay

Once considered the kindest and most beautiful of her kind Lilith was subjected to the most horrendous abuse of any known victim of the War of the Wings.

Lilith is the reigning unchallenged queen to the broken Fay. Despite her abhorrent treatment she continues to make it her mission in life to save humanity.

Along with taking care of her flock, she is mother to her hollow children.

They cannot commit evil if there is nothing left.

The Feast of the Fay

A yearly event in which the Fay hold a feast inviting all their kind including their none disfigured sisters. The very ones that have distanced themselves from the broken women that they gave up their precious wings for. Though they are not known to attend.

During this event they devour the flesh of any man unlucky enough to be captured. Not only to harness worship through cruelty. They also do so to remind themselves that they will never be mistreated again.

MOTHER

“They called her the Golden Harbinger, we called her Mother”.

Little is known about the otherworldly being that saved Cherel kind from annulation. No single Cherel can recall her the same way so she is always depicted without any discernable features.

While The Mother was only with them for a short time every one of their kind pine for her and many await her return to elevate them from their eternal suffering.

They await with ever dwindling hope.

The Blighted

A terrible fate awaits those who are not nourished by worship.

A truly terrible fate await those who do not attain sufficient amounts of worship from humans revert to a monstrous state.

Those affected with Blight from a state of perceived starvation become hulking mounds of voracious flesh. Their only motivation is to consume and spread.

Once a Redemptor was able to revert them back to their previous state however after her wings where taken. Only a merciful end is the best that awaits those afflicted.
